What is the $100 for and is it refundable?

The $100 deposit is a non-refundable hold on a spot for the event. You must commit to attending the event and pay the remaining amount of $149 at least two weeks prior to the event. Since spots are limited, if you do not pay the remaining balance by the required date, you will lose out on your spot, as well as the $100.

Is there an age requirement to attend?

While we support young creatives, this current workshop tour is for attendees who are 18 years old or older. Future initiatives and events will be created to include a younger audience. Stay tuned.

Can I attend with a friend or colleague?

Of course; however, each person must purchase a ticket.

Will I be able to purchase tickets on the day of the workshop?

No. We do expect to sell out, as there are a limited amount of tickets available for each city.

Is there anything I will need to bring to the workshop?

The OBVIOUS team is curating a workshop experience that will make the investment satisfactory and will provide the necessary materials for each workshop, including food and drink. We do encourage you to bring an open mind and an eagerness to learn. Suggested items for networking purposes are comp cards, business cards, portfolio (for review), etc.

I’ve purchased a ticket but can no longer attend the workshop. Do you offer refunds?

Unfortunately, all tickets are non-refundable; however, we will honor a one-time courtesy to use your ticket for a different city (for tickets paid in full only). In the event that you are unable to attend any of the other scheduled dates, we'll provide a private 1-hour session with Editor in Chief, Jerris Madison (via Skype or FaceTime). You will have the opportunity to ask questions you wanted to ask at the event as well as have your portfolio reviewed. (This will be scheduled for a time that works for both parties)

Do I still receive my gift bag if I can't attend?

Yes. It will be mailed to your home or office. Someone on the OBVIOUS Team will contact you via email.

What is the requirement to be selected as a model for the workshop?

Open to paid attendees only. You must also send an email request to tour{@}obviousmag[.]com with a link to your website, Instagram, and phone number for approval. Please attach 3-5 professional images for review. If approved, we will contact you before the scheduled date for full details and requirements. You will receive (2) two retouched images for your portfolio. This is not a paid opportunity. You will be required to sign a Model Release.

I'm not a model (i.e. makeup artist) and want to participate in the live photo session. What are the requirements?

Open to paid attendees only. You must also send an email request to tour[@]obviousmag[.]com with a link to your website, Instagram, and phone number for approval. Please attach 3-5 professional images of your work for review. If approved, we will contact you before the scheduled date for full details and requirements. You will receive (2) two retouched images for your portfolio. This is not a paid opportunity. You will be required to sign a release form.
